The Big Rafter Rodeo Team rolled into Poplar Bluff, Missouri, this past weekend, with an amazing lineup of bull riding and music entertainment by great artists like Stoney Larue and Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers Band, making this event destined for success and allowing our crew to experience their first major production for the 2019 season.
This event was sanctioned by the Bull Riders of America, who brought a list of strong, young bulls that have not yet bucked on a competitive platform. giving them the opportunity for their first big taste of competition. This venue allowed these bulls a chance to buck under the bright lights and a great opportunity for the Big Rafter Team to assess their young talent.
And, buck they did!
During the two nights of long round action, a long list of young animal and human athletes, alike, each had their opportunity to test their will and compete for a paycheck, with several of these young animal athletes entertaining the crowd as they bucked to their hearts content and did not disappoint.
The short round continued with high-energy bull power due to NFR qualifiers, Economical Impact, and Salty Dog; both are seasoned bulls, had strong performances in Poplar Bluff and are well on their way to another strong 2019 season.
At the close of night 1, Rusty Rains had battled his way through the short round to win and on night 2, Luke Bradley conquered the short round and found himself first to the pay window.
The Big Rafter Rodeo Team is home for a few days of recovery before they head to their second production of the year, in Springfield, Missouri for the Ozark Empire PRCA Rodeo, on March 22nd and 23rd. This will be an exciting weekend of PRCA-action, where most of the Big Rafter line-up is set to perform, while a select few members of the team will be headed to Kissimmee, Florida for the Ram National Circuit Finals.
